Guide for setting up Skype

Download and sign up for skype

  1. Download Skype to your device. Click or tap here for a download link.

  2. If you don’t have a Skype or Microsoft account, open Skype and create an account.

  3. If you do have a Skype or Microsoft account, open Skype and sign in.

  4. *IMPORTANT* Please make sure to invite us to Skype as per the email checklist. Click or tap here for a guide on inviting us to Skype.

Check your Internet connection

To conduct a video call of decent quality you will need a download and upload speed of 350kbps (0.35Mbps) or more.

If your home internet is not fast enough, you can use your smartphone’s internet instead. 99% of mobile phones run on the fast 4G network so you can either use your smartphone to conduct the entire call, or you can use your phone as a wi-fi hotspot and conduct the call using a tablet or computer.

If you have an internet speed lower than 350kbps (0.35Mbps), please let us know immediately.

Joining a video call

  1. Before your appointment, position your device in front of you so the camera can see your face and the top of your shoulders. It is not recommended to hold the device in your hand or sit it in your lap.

  2. At the time of your appointment, you will receive a Skype call on your device.

  3. You will see a few options to answer or decline the call. Click or tap the button that looks like a video camera or says “Answer with video”, like the one below:
